Don Stewart is a false prophet!!! His website is at www.donstewarttv.com. Don Stewart promotes his Green Prosperity Prayer Handkerchief (i.e., a Miracle Prayer Cloth). Sadly, many people have fallen victim to this blatant scam. Stewart's TV show uses lures of a better job, better health, and more money to sucker people into sending him a donation.
Sinister Ministers
It is tragic that greedy men stoop so low as to exploit the name of Jesus, but this is what Don Stewart, Peter Popoff, Mike Murdock, Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Robert Tilton, James Robison, and others are doing. Read what the Word of God warns us concern these evil men...
"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." ―2nd Peter 2:1-3Matthew 7:22-23 reveals that many false prophets do exploit the NAME of Jesus...
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."These false prophets did all that they did IN JESUS' NAME; YET, they went to Hellfire, because they didn't do the WILL OF GOD concerning salvation. Ye must be born again! All we hear from greedy televangelists today is promises of health, wealth, and prosperity if we'll just send in a donation, plant a financial seed in their ministry, or buy something from them. It was this very same shenanigans that angered the Lord in John 2:14-16...
"And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."Christianity began as a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. When it went to Greece it became a philosophy. When Christianity went to Rome it became an organization. When it spread throughout Europe it became a culture. And when Christianity came to America it became a business. This is so tragic!
Don Stewart is an imposter, who ought to be ashamed of himself for exploiting the name of Jesus to make money. No object, such as Don Stewart's green prosperity handkerchief, can bring blessings into your life or home. This is superstition.
God blesses those who OBEY the Bible; not those who place their trust in idols, objects, or men. 2nd Peter 1:4 states, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." The power of God resides in the PROMISES of God. There are thousands of promises in the Bible from God. The rainbow is God's token to mankind that He is a God who honors His promises. If you want God's power and blessing in your life, then you need to obey the Scriptures.
Most people today are seeking a shortcut, i.e., they are willing to send their money to a false prophet in hopes of bettering their life; but they don't want to obey the Bible. It doesn't work that way. Don Stewart has diminished Christianity into a game, where you can purchase the power and blessings of God. Don Stewart is a minister of unrighteousness, as we are warned about in 2nd Corinthians 11:13,14... "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." Satan has multitudes of evil workers, and many of them are sinister ministers; such as, Don Stewart, Peter Popoff, Bill Gothard, Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Chuck Colson, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Gene and Melissa Scott, John Hagee, Creflo Dollar, Jan and Paul Crouch, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Robert Schuller, T.D. Jakes, Paula and Randy White, James MacDonald, Bishop Hamon, Mike Murdock, James Eugene Ewing, Robert Tilton, Bishop Jordan, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Martin Luther King Jr., Bill Hybels, James Robison, John MacArthur, Morris Cerullo, Rick Warren, Rod Parsley, John Avanzini, John Osteen, T. L. Osborne, Charles Capps, Marilyn Hickey, Jerry Savelle, Casey Treat, Dwight Thompson, and Oral and Richard Roberts.
There is one major theme which is predominant amongst Satan's ministers—MONEY! If ANY minister preaches about money more than any other subject, he's a false prophet. No genuine man of God would harp on money more than the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. And let me say, money and tithing are NOT a fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith. From listening to the average preacher or pastor today, you'd think the Bible was a money manual. This is evil and wrong. All we hear nowadays on TV from the televangelists is success stories about people who struck-it-big financially after sending in a donation. Only a complete fool would believe that such greedy shenanigans is of God.
Pat Robertson makes me sick. On his show, he, Gordon Robertson and Terry Meeuwsen regularly join hands in a prayer segment, which is then followed by a psychic type reading, where they specify details of who is being healed in TV land. It's creepy! Are The 700 Club hosts, Pat Robertson, Gordon Robertson and Terry Meeuwsen, psychics? The entire Charismatic Movement is of the Devil.
Don Stewart is a deceiver who leads ignorant people to believe that they will receive health, wealth, and prosperity simply by sending him a donation.
END
Don Stewart lives in a million dollar mansion in the States. Prayer requests which are sent to him have been found in a dumpster (once the money/checks are removed). Just read this article to learn more about the hypocrisy and fraud in this man’s life and ministry. The article is well documented.
Now to my own experience and thoughts:
I’ll tell you more about the letter’s other instructions later. Let’s first talk about the "holy hanky" and the Bible verse that Don uses to support the practice. It is true that handkerchiefs and aprons which touched Paul did heal the sick (Acts 19:11-12). But Don’s use of this Scripture is wrong for several reasons:
- This is only mentioned once in the New Testament. We never read that this practice was intended to be passed on to others. Jesus, for example, healed a man by spitting in the ground and putting the mud in his eyes (John 9:6). Why not mail out spit-mud pies to everyone?
- Paul never asked money from or promised money to those who received handkerchiefs. You cannot find one New Testament example of Paul promising money or “financial miracles” in the way Don describes. You will find plenty of warnings about the worship of money, which Don conveniently ignores (along with the gospel itself).
- The New Testament emphasis is on God’s power, not any object or method of healing. Watch Don’s show and you’ll see people holding on to the hankies as if they are the Holy Grail. This is idolatry, not to mention that the before-mentioned people look like complete idiots.
- Don claims that the handkerchief is a “point of contact” with him, as if we need him for miracles. I do not believe that he ever even sees any of these hankies in the Philippines. It is simply a ploy to make more profit.
Miracles for Sale?
I can think of one New Testament example of someone who wanted God’s power in exchange for money. His name was Simon the Sorcerer:
"And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me." —Acts 8:18-24
Warnings in the Bible
Consider some of the following warnings regarding false religious teachers. We should be careful who we listen to!
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." —Matthew 7:15
"Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation." —Luke 20:47
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron." —1st Timothy 4:1-2"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." ―2nd Peter 2:1-3
